For interviews, one-to-ones and pair work. The choice is less about acoustics than about the shape of the space you have.
Two-person office pods in New Zealand start at about $14,625 ex GST. All credible options are Class A to ISO 23351-1, so the real decision is footprint shape: a square pod at roughly 1600 × 1375 mm needs a corner or island position, while a long narrow pod at 2300 × 966 mm sits flat against a wall run or window line where a square one will not fit.
Shape decides this, not acoustics
Every two-person pod worth buying is Class A. What differs is the footprint, and on most New Zealand floors that is the constraint that actually decides the purchase.
Most offices have wall runs, window lines and corridor edges with about a metre of usable depth and nothing that fits there. A square pod needs a corner or an island position and eats circulation space. A narrow pod sits flat against the wall and leaves the floor plan intact.
This is the single most overlooked point in the category, and it is why we ask for a floor plan before recommending anything.
The options

2300 × 966 mm externally — under a metre deep. Seats two, Class A to ISO 23351-1, 110 m³/h airflow with the air changed every 2.3 minutes and cycling when empty. Takes about the same floor area as a square two-person pod in a completely different shape.
Against it: $1,000 more than the square model and the long shape does not suit an island position. If you have a corner, the Duo is cheaper.
FocusPod Duo — the square one
1600 × 1375 mm, roughly square. Identical acoustics, ventilation and build to the Team — same shell as the Solo Plus. The right choice when you have a corner or an island position rather than a wall run.
Against it: needs more circulation space around it than the narrow model, and on a tight floor plan that is often what rules it out.
Framery One+ Meet — the premium option
Class A, well engineered, Finnish manufacture, and the smart technology that comes with the range — booking, occupancy sensing, sound masking.
Against it: no published New Zealand price, so a quote means a dealer and a wait. Worth it if the pods need to join existing room-booking infrastructure.
Furniture-retailer two-person booths — convenient in a larger fitout order
Often bundled into a wider furniture purchase, which is genuinely useful if you are fitting out a floor anyway.
Against it: footprint options are usually limited to a single square model, so if your space wants a narrow pod you are out of luck. Ask for the airflow figure and the acoustic report number.

What two-person pods get used for
Performance reviews, HR conversations, candidate interviews and pair work. All four are things that should not happen at an open desk, and all four are why the acoustic rating matters more here than in a phone booth — someone overhearing half a performance review is a different problem from someone overhearing half a sales call.
