FocusPod acoustic office booth installed on an open-plan office floor

Acoustic office booths in New Zealand cost between $10,730 and $20,335 ex GST, delivered free anywhere in the country. A one-person call booth sits at the bottom of that range and a six-person meeting room at the top. Every model is manufactured in our own facility and delivered three weeks from order, runs from a standard power point, and needs no builder, electrician or council consent.

The full range

Six models, one build

Every model shares the same construction, acoustics, ventilation and electrics. Size and capacity are the only real differences, which means the choice is a floor-space question rather than a quality one.

Which size do you actually need?

Start with the space, not the price

The most common mistake is buying one size too small to save $3,000, then finding it is used for the wrong thing. The second most common is buying a Meet when a Team would have fitted the space properly.

The Team is the model people overlook. At 2300 × 966 mm it is long and narrow, so it sits flat against a wall in a corridor or along a window line where a square pod simply will not go. Same acoustics, same install, roughly the same floor area as a Duo but in a completely different shape.

If you need Choose Why
Somewhere to take calls Solo Fits where a desk goes. Cheapest way to solve the call problem

Client meetings and video calls Meet Four around a table, 4.1 m² of floor
Workshops and board meetings Max Six people. Replaces a built meeting room entirely

Standard on every model

Nothing here is an upsell
FocusPod continuous ventilation system
01

Ventilation that runs when nobody is inside

Airflow is adjustable up to 70 m³/h on a Solo and 327 m³/h on a Max, changing the air every 1.6 to 2.4 minutes. When the booth is empty it still runs a five-minute exchange every half hour, so it is fresh when the next person opens the door rather than stale.

Integrated LED lighting and USB-C charging inside a FocusPod
02

Lighting and power built in

Dimmable LED with adjustable colour temperature, two New Zealand outlets, USB-A and USB-C. Wiring is oxygen-free copper in flame-retardant sheathing with UL-certified connectors.

Occupancy sensor lighting in a FocusPod booth
03

Occupancy sensing

Lights come on as you walk in and switch off eight minutes after the last movement. The delay is adjustable and the whole thing can be disabled. Power outlets stay live regardless.

Aluminium frame and full-glass magnetic door
04

The door does most of the work

A full-glass magnetic-close door with a sealed gasket on a precision aluminium frame. Door seals are where cheap booths fail and where you hear it first.

Independently tested

What the certificates cover

Four independent standards apply to these pods, and it is worth knowing what each one measures rather than taking a single number on trust.

ISO 23351-1 measures speech level reduction, and every model is rated Class A, the highest band. ISO 14644-3 covers the air change rate. ISO 16000-3 covers formaldehyde and VOC emissions in the air inside. GREENGUARD Gold certifies low chemical emissions for a space someone occupies all day, and the pods are additionally evaluated to UL 962 for powered furniture.

We publish the standard our rating is measured to and will send the report reference on request. A decibel claim with no standard attached to it can mean anything.

Delivery and installation

Free nationwide across New Zealand

Pods ship flat-packed on a pallet from our Queensland facility. Two people assemble one in two to four hours with basic tools and no floor fixings. Nothing drills into the building.

If you would rather not, professional installation runs from $1,145 ex GST for a Solo to $2,070 for a Max. Our team handles delivery to your floor, assembly, connection and testing, usually in a single morning.

1

Check access before you order

Internal lift dimensions, corridor width and any tight corners between the dock and the spot. Packed pallets are 1270 mm tall and up to 2650 mm long. This is the step people skip and regret.

2

We deliver to your floor

Not the loading dock. We coordinate dock booking and lift access with your building manager directly.

3

Plug it in

One standard 240V outlet. Lighting, ventilation, power and USB all come on immediately. No electrician, no permits, no make-good obligation when you leave.

Delivered and installed nationwide

Every state

Delivery included to main centres from our Queensland facility, with a freight quote for rural and remote addresses, with our own installation team in the capitals. Local pages for Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, New Zealand, New Zealand and the Queensland.

What customers say

Named customers, all six models
Solo · Auckland

★★★★★

“We added a FocusPod Solo because private phone calls were becoming difficult in our open-plan office. It gets used constantly for client calls, Zoom meetings and focused work. It looks professional, takes up very little space and has freed up our meeting rooms for larger groups.”

Emily Carter
Harbour Lane Finance

Solo · Christchurch

★★★★★

“We originally purchased one FocusPod Solo to see how much use it would get. Within the first week, staff were booking it throughout the day. It has given everyone a quiet place to take calls without interrupting the rest of the office.”

Daniel Brooks
Westbridge Property Group

Solo · Queensland

★★★★★

“The Solo has been a great addition to our studio. We have a collaborative workspace, which is excellent most of the time, but it can be difficult when someone needs privacy or complete concentration. The pod solves that problem without taking over the room.”

Sarah Mitchell
Coastline Creative

Solo Plus · Wellington

★★★★★

“I use the Solo Plus as a proper workstation for most of the day, not just for short calls. There is enough room for my laptop, monitor and notes, and it feels comfortable even during long stretches of focused work. It has made working in an open office much easier.”

Michael Tran
Apex Digital Solutions

Solo Plus · Dunedin

★★★★★

“We chose the Solo Plus for employees who spend several hours each day in video meetings. It feels much more spacious than a standard phone booth and works well as a private office for longer sessions. The lighting and airflow have also been excellent.”

Rebecca Collins
Greenline Consulting

Duo · Hamilton

★★★★★

“We mainly use the Duo for candidate interviews and private staff discussions. It is comfortable for two people and creates a much more professional environment than trying to hold interviews at an open desk. It has quickly become one of our most useful office spaces.”

James Wilson
Meridian Recruitment

Duo · Christchurch

★★★★★

“The FocusPod Duo is perfect for one-on-one meetings, performance reviews and confidential conversations. It gives us privacy without requiring a full-size meeting room, and it fits neatly into the office without making the space feel crowded.”

Natalie Evans
North & Co Accounting

Team · Wellington

★★★★★

“The narrow footprint was the main reason we selected the FocusPod Team. We had a long section of unused floor space but not enough width for a conventional meeting room. The pod fitted the area perfectly and gave us a proper team meeting space without changing the entire office layout.”

Adam Foster
UrbanForm Architects

Team · Hamilton

★★★★★

“Most of the larger office pods we looked at were too wide for our floorplan. The FocusPod Team gave us the seating capacity we needed while fitting along a narrow wall. It has helped us turn an awkward area into one of the most frequently used spaces in the office.”

Lauren Hayes
Western Project Partners

Meet · Auckland

★★★★★

“We use the FocusPod Meet for client appointments and video conferences almost every day. It gives us a quiet, professional setting and prevents clients from having to sit in the middle of a busy open office. The finish also matches our workplace extremely well.”

Thomas Reed
Eastpoint Legal

Meet · Queensland

★★★★★

“Our meeting rooms were constantly booked, especially when staff needed somewhere quiet for video calls. The FocusPod Meet has solved that problem. It is spacious enough for client discussions but still compact enough that we did not sacrifice a large amount of office space.”

Jessica Morgan
Brightside Media

Max · Dunedin

★★★★★

“We considered constructing another meeting room, but the cost and disruption were difficult to justify. The FocusPod Max gave us the enclosed space we needed without weeks of building work. It feels like a permanent room inside, while still giving us flexibility if the office layout changes.”

Christopher Hall
Summit Engineering Group

Max · Christchurch

★★★★★

“The FocusPod Max was a far simpler option than building a new boardroom. We avoided construction delays, approvals and permanent changes to the tenancy, while still gaining a high-quality meeting space. It has become our main room for team meetings and client presentations.”

Common questions

Asked by real buyers

How much does an office booth cost in New Zealand?

Office booths cost from $10,730 ex GST for a one-person call booth up to $20,335 ex GST for a six-person meeting room, with delivery included to main centres nationwide, with a freight quote for rural and remote addresses. Professional installation is optional and runs from $1,145 to $2,070 ex GST depending on model. Furniture packages start at $515 ex GST.

What is the difference between an office booth and an office pod?

Nothing, in practice. Booth usually describes the smaller one and two-person sizes used for calls, while pod is the broader term covering everything up to a six-person meeting room. Both are freestanding acoustic enclosures that sit inside an existing floor and require no building work.

Do office pods need council consent in New Zealand?

No. A freestanding pod does not attach to the floor, walls or ceiling and is treated as furniture rather than building work, so council consent is not required. Check your lease for any landlord conditions on floor loading or alterations.

How heavy are office pods and will my floor take one?

Assembled weights run from 290 kg to 970 kg. Because the larger pods spread that over a bigger footprint, loading falls as the pod grows: roughly 143 kg/m² for a six-person pod, 171 for a four-person, 228 to 254 for the two-person models, and about 310 kg/m² for the smallest booth, which concentrates its weight over roughly one square metre. Most New Zealand commercial floors are designed to a 3.0 kPa uniformly distributed load under AS/NZS 1170.1, which is about 306 kg/m² — so the larger models sit comfortably inside it and the smallest is worth confirming with your building manager on older floors. We supply exact figures on request.

Which office pod size do I need?

Count the people and the use. One person taking calls needs a Solo. One person working full days needs a Solo Plus. Two people need a Duo, or a Team if the space is narrow — the Team also seats two but is only 966 mm deep. Four around a table need a Meet, and six need a Max.

How long does delivery take?

In-stock white exterior with grey interior ships on our standard three-week lead time with delivery included to main centres nationwide, with a freight quote for rural and remote addresses. Custom combinations from the seven exterior and thirteen interior finishes are built to order and typically ready in four to six weeks.

Do I need an electrician to install an office pod?

No. Every model runs from a single standard 240V 10A outlet and draws between 40 and 120 W depending on size. No dedicated circuit, no hard-wiring and no electrical trade. Internal wiring is to AS/NZS 3000 and each pod has its own circuit breaker.

Can office pods be moved to a new office?

Yes. Pods are modular and can be disassembled, transported and reassembled in a new tenancy. That is why they sit on the balance sheet as a depreciable asset rather than a leasehold improvement you leave behind.
