Two Person Office Pods

Two people

Two-person pods, in two different shapes.

Same acoustics, same install, same capacity. The choice is about the shape of the space you have.

Soundproof meeting pod installed in an office interior

A two-person office pod is a freestanding soundproof room for one-to-ones, pair work and interviews. FocusPod offers two, both from around $14,625 ex GST with delivery included: a square model at 1600 × 1375 mm, and a long narrow model at 2300 × 966 mm that fits against a wall where a square pod will not. Both are Class A to ISO 23351-1.

Square, or long and narrow

Duo · Team

These seat the same two people and perform identically. What differs is the footprint, and on most floors that decides it.

Why the narrow one matters

2300 × 966 mm

The Team is under a metre deep. It takes about the same floor area as the Duo, in a completely different shape.

Most offices have wall runs, window lines and corridor edges with roughly a metre of usable depth and nothing that fits there. A square pod needs a corner or an island position and eats circulation space. A narrow pod sits flat against the wall and leaves the floor plan intact.

It is the model we most often recommend after seeing a floor plan, and the one almost nobody asks for by name.

★★★★★

“We mainly use the Duo for candidate interviews and private staff discussions. It is comfortable for two people and creates a much more professional environment than trying to hold interviews at an open desk. It has quickly become one of our most useful office spaces.”

★★★★★

“The FocusPod Duo is perfect for one-on-one meetings, performance reviews and confidential conversations. It gives us privacy without requiring a full-size meeting room, and it fits neatly into the office without making the space feel crowded.”

Team · Wellington

★★★★★

“The narrow footprint was the main reason we selected the FocusPod Team. We had a long section of unused floor space but not enough width for a conventional meeting room. The pod fitted the area perfectly and gave us a proper team meeting space without changing the entire office layout.”

★★★★★

“Most of the larger office pods we looked at were too wide for our floorplan. The FocusPod Team gave us the seating capacity we needed while fitting along a narrow wall. It has helped us turn an awkward area into one of the most frequently used spaces in the office.”

Common questions

Asked by real buyers

How much does a two-person office pod cost?

A two-person pod costs from $14,625 ex GST for the square Duo, or $15,630 ex GST for the long, narrow Team. Both include delivery included to main centres nationwide, with a freight quote for rural and remote addresses. Installation is optional from $1,490 ex GST.

What is the difference between the Duo and the Team?

Shape, not capacity. Both seat two people with identical acoustics and ventilation. The Duo is 1600 × 1375 mm, roughly square. The Team is 2300 × 966 mm, long and narrow — under a metre deep, so it fits flat against a wall or window line where a square pod cannot.

Can two people work in a pod all day?

Yes. Both two-person models move up to 110 m³ of air per hour and change the air roughly every 2.3 minutes, which is what makes extended use comfortable. Ventilation also runs when the pod is empty.

Do two-person pods work for interviews and one-to-ones?

Yes, and it is one of the most common uses. Class A speech level reduction means a normal speaking voice inside is not intelligible outside, which is the requirement for HR conversations, performance reviews and interviews on an open floor.

How much floor space does a two-person pod need?

About 2.2 m² for either model, plus clearance for the door to open and for someone to walk past. The difference is the shape of that 2.2 m² — square for the Duo, long and narrow for the Team.

Do they need council consent?

No. Both are freestanding and do not attach to the floor, walls or ceiling, so they are treated as furniture rather than building work. Check your lease for conditions on floor loading — assembled weight is 442 to 564 kg depending on model.
