SHIPPING AND DELIVERY POLICY (NEW ZEALAND)

Last updated: August 2026

This policy explains how we deliver to New Zealand, what it costs, how long it takes, and what we need from you to get your pod on site without problems.

1. WHERE WE DELIVER

We deliver throughout New Zealand, to both the North and South Islands, including rural and regional addresses.

We deliver to business and residential addresses. Pods are large palletised freight items, so residential and rural deliveries need to be discussed with us before you order so we can confirm the truck can reach you.

We do not deliver to PO boxes.

2. IMPORT, GST AND DUTY

Pods are imported and delivered on a duty paid basis. We handle customs clearance, import duty and GST.

The price shown on our New Zealand store, plus any delivery and installation charges quoted, is the total you pay. You will not receive a separate bill from New Zealand Customs or from the freight carrier before your pod can be released.

3. DELIVERY COST

Delivery to New Zealand is quoted per order rather than charged at a flat rate. Freight for a pod depends on the model, the number of units, the destination, and the access at your site, and consolidating multiple pods into one shipment reduces the cost per unit significantly.

Your delivery charge is confirmed in writing on your quote or at checkout before you pay. It will not change afterwards unless you change the delivery address or the site access details you gave us.

Furniture packages and accessories ordered with a pod ship on the same pallet at no additional freight cost. Accessories ordered on their own are quoted separately.

4. LEAD TIMES AND DISPATCH

Your lead time depends on stock:

In stock. Pods held in stock are typically prepared for dispatch within 3 to 5 business days of cleared payment or a confirmed deposit, then travel by sea freight to New Zealand.

Custom colours and non-standard finishes. These are built to order and typically require a 4 to 6 week production lead time before dispatch.

Total transit time to New Zealand, including sea freight, port handling and customs clearance, is usually 3 to 5 weeks for main centres and longer for regional and South Island addresses. Air freight can be arranged for urgent orders at additional cost.

The lead time confirmed on your quote is our best estimate at the time of quoting and is given in good faith. Shipping schedules, port congestion and customs clearance are outside our control. If a material delay occurs we will contact you with a revised date.

5. HOW YOUR POD ARRIVES

Pods ship flat-packed, strapped and wrapped on a pallet. Depending on the model, an order may arrive on more than one pallet.

Unless your quote states otherwise, delivery is to the ground floor loading area or kerbside at your address. The carrier will not carry the pallet inside, up stairs, or into a lift.

The delivering vehicle is a truck with a tail lift. It needs sealed, level, unobstructed access with adequate height clearance and room to manoeuvre.

You will need a pallet jack, forklift, or two to three people to move the pallet from the truck to its final position. If you do not have this, tell us before you order and we will quote a delivery option that suits your site.

6. BOOKING AND NOTIFICATION

We will contact you before dispatch to confirm your delivery address, site contact and any access requirements.

Once your shipment clears customs, the freight carrier will contact your nominated site contact to book a delivery window. Deliveries are made during standard business hours, Monday to Friday. After-hours and weekend deliveries can be arranged at additional cost where the carrier allows it.

Someone must be available at the delivery address to receive and sign for the pallet.

7. WHAT WE NEED YOU TO TELL US

Before dispatch, please tell us about anything that affects delivery, including:

Loading dock, lift or goods lift restrictions, and their dimensions and weight limits.

Height, width or weight limits on driveways, gates, car park entries or access roads.

Stairs, kerbs, gravel, steep driveways or unsealed access.

Restricted delivery hours, booking systems, or building management requirements.

Site induction, insurance certificate or security clearance requirements.

Whether you have a forklift or pallet jack on site.

If a delivery cannot be completed because the site is not accessible, no one is available to receive it, or the access information given to us was incomplete or incorrect, you are responsible for the redelivery, waiting time or storage charges the carrier passes on. We will always quote these to you before they are incurred.

8. INSPECTING YOUR DELIVERY

Please inspect the pallet before the driver leaves and note any visible damage to the pallet, wrap or crating on the delivery paperwork before you sign.

Open and check the contents within 48 hours and email info@focuspod.co.nz with photographs if anything is damaged or missing. Keep all packaging until the claim is resolved.

Full details are in our Returns and Refunds Policy.

9. RISK AND TITLE

Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Title remains with us until we have received payment in full.

10. INSTALLATION

Installation is available as an option and is quoted separately. Where installation is included, we or our nominated contractor will deliver, assemble, connect and test the pod, and remove the packaging.

Where you have not purchased installation, the pallet is left with you and assembly is your responsibility. Pods are designed for two-person assembly using basic tools and require no trades, electrician or council approval. Assembly instructions are supplied with the pod.

Site requirements for installation are set out in our Terms of Service.

11. HIRE DELIVERIES

Hire pricing is quoted all-inclusive and covers delivery, installation, pack down and collection unless your quote states otherwise.

For event hire, we will confirm bump in and bump out times with you and work to the venue's loading dock and access schedule. Please give us the venue's access requirements as early as possible, as loading dock windows at major venues book out well in advance.

12. STORAGE

If your site is not ready to receive the pod when it arrives in New Zealand, we can arrange short term storage. Storage charges apply and will be quoted to you. Goods cannot be held at the port or in a carrier's depot indefinitely, so please tell us as early as possible if your dates have moved.
