Work pods
A call booth and a work pod are the same product solving different problems. One is stepped into for ten minutes. The other is sat in for three hours, and almost everything that decides whether that happens is furniture, air and light rather than acoustics. This page is about the second one.

Which models are actually built to sit in
Two of the six are designed around the long session rather than the short call.
Solo Plus takes a full-size ergonomic swivel chair and a proper desk rather than a perch and a ledge. That is the whole difference, and it is the difference between a pod someone works in for two hours and one they leave after twenty minutes with a sore back.
Duo and above give you a table you can spread out on and room for a second person to join without anyone standing. For pair work, code review, an interview or a coaching session, that geometry matters more than the acoustic number does.
Solo is excellent and is not this. It is the best value in the range for calls, and it is the wrong purchase if the brief is focused work.
Air, light and why pods get abandoned
The two most common reasons a pod stops being used have nothing to do with sound.
The first is air. An enclosed box without adequate air exchange becomes stuffy within about forty minutes, and the person inside attributes the feeling to the pod rather than to the ventilation. Adjustable ventilation is standard on every FocusPod, and on the larger models the cooling option is added alongside it rather than replacing it. If you are comparing suppliers, ask for the air change rate, not just whether there is a fan.
The second is light. Overhead office lighting through a glass roof is unflattering on camera and tiring over hours. Dimmable lighting with adjustable colour temperature is standard, which sounds like a detail until you have spent an afternoon in a pod that has neither.
How many work pods a floor needs
Fewer than you would guess, and placed differently from call booths.
Call booths want to be on the main route, obvious and close to the desks they serve, because the whole point is that someone can step out of a conversation and into one. Work pods want the opposite. They are booked or claimed for hours, so they can sit at the quieter edge of the floor where the walk is worth it.
Start with one or two, watch how they are used for a month, and let the pattern tell you the number. A floor that has to queue for a work pod has learned something useful. A floor with six standing empty has bought furniture instead of solving a problem.

What is included as standard
Every FocusPod arrives with laminated glass front and rear, layered acoustic insulation, adjustable ventilation, dimmable LED lighting with adjustable colour temperature, power and an occupancy light. Speech level reduction is laboratory tested at greater than 29 dB under ISO 23351-1, the international standard written specifically for pods. Every pod is covered by our five-year structural and electrical warranty.

There is no separate charge for the black or white exterior or for the standard interior palette. Other exterior colours use the displayed upgrade price, and a custom interior colour is priced per pod. All of it is listed separately as you build, so nothing arrives as a surprise on the quotation.
See it properly before you decide
Take a look inside. The film below walks through the Solo, the most compact model in the range, and the 3D configurator lets you turn any model around, change the finishes and try the furniture layouts. If you would rather be walked through it, we will do a live video walkthrough of the pod you are considering and answer questions as we go.
Common questions
Which model should I buy for focused work?
Solo Plus for one person, because it takes a full ergonomic chair and a proper desk. Duo or larger if two people will work in it or if you need table space. Solo is built for calls rather than long sessions.
Is it comfortable for several hours?
That depends on air more than anything else. Adjustable ventilation is standard, and cooling is available as an option. Lighting is dimmable with adjustable colour temperature, which matters over a long session and on camera.
Can we add a monitor and a sit-stand desk?
Yes. Monitor arms, desk options and power and data are all configurable, and the configurator prices them as you add them.
Does it need electrical work?
No. It plugs into a standard socket and is not fixed to the building.
How long does delivery take?
Pods are made to the configuration you approve. Indicative lead time is around four weeks from a confirmed order, with delivery and installation scheduled on top, and your written quotation confirms the window for your address.
Can I see one before I order?
Yes. Turn any model around in the 3D configurator, watch the product films, and if you would like to be walked through it, we will do a live video walkthrough of the pod you are considering. Send us the room dimensions beforehand and we will talk through how it fits.
Are the front and rear both glass?
Yes. Every FocusPod has glass at both the front and rear. Standard glass is clear. Optional PDLC privacy glass can be selected for the front only or for both the front and rear.
Can I move the pod once it is installed?
Yes. Every FocusPod has built-in wheels and adjustable levelling feet. Raise the feet to move the pod on its wheels, then lower and adjust them to level the pod in its new position.
