Study Pods for Universities, Schools and Libraries
Give individual study and small-group discussion a defined place. Plan an enclosed indoor pod around the people using it and the way your learning space operates.

Individual study or group discussion?
Start by separating quiet individual work from collaborative sessions. A single-occupant pod can provide an enclosed place for online tutorials or focused work. A larger pod supports small-group discussion without dedicating a full classroom to every meeting.
Solo Plus is a single-person option to assess for a seated study setup. Duo and Team provide two-person layouts; Meet is the four-person option. Check the furniture layout and actual equipment needs before selecting a capacity.
Enclosed pods versus open study carrels
The term study pod can also mean an open desk with acoustic screens. FocusPod supplies enclosed indoor pods with doors, lighting and ventilation. That difference affects supervision, access, floor loading and how the space will be managed.
Choose an open carrel when visual access and quick turnover are the priorities. Consider an enclosed pod when a defined room for calls or discussion better suits the brief. It should be assessed in the surrounding library or learning environment rather than assumed to provide complete sound isolation.
Plan access and supervision first
Keep exits, accessible routes and circulation clear. Check the door opening, threshold, furniture arrangement and turning space against the needs of intended users. Do not assume a standard pod is wheelchair accessible based only on its overall size.
For school settings, assess supervision, sightlines, door operation and student-use rules with the relevant staff before procurement. These pods are not being offered as therapeutic or sensory-treatment spaces, and suitability for a particular learning need requires its own assessment.
Check dimensions and building requirements
Solo Plus measures 1600 × 1375 × 2338 mm externally and 1462 × 1335 × 2146 mm internally. Meet measures 2300 × 1785 × 2338 mm externally and 2162 × 1745 × 2146 mm internally. All dimensions are width × depth × height.
Net pod weights are 442 kg for Solo Plus and 635 kg for Meet, before furniture and occupants. Have the building team review support locations, floor capacity, installation clearances and nearby services. Fans draw air from the surrounding room; they do not replace the building's air-conditioning system.
Use the product guide and delivery guide when checking lifts and the route to the final position.
Make shared use practical
Decide who may book the pod, maximum session length and how cleaning will fit between uses. Plan where bags, cables and mobility aids will go so the doorway remains usable. Test speech and ventilation noise in the intended environment, particularly near silent-study zones.
For an education or library quote, include the site address, floor plan, user group, number of pods, furniture requirements and installation window. List any standards or supporting documentation required by your procurement team.
