For architects and specifiers

Everything you need to specify an acoustic pod properly, in one place: dimensions, the acoustic standard and what it was measured under, certifications, lead times for your programme, and a performance specification you can write without locking it to one brand. All of it published rather than gated.

Six models, one configurator

Every FocusPod has a glass front and rear, built-in wheels and adjustable levelling feet.

What to write in the specification

The most useful thing we can give you is a performance specification that keeps competition open rather than one that names us. Here is what actually needs to be in it.

Acoustic: minimum speech level reduction in dB, measured on the assembled unit under ISO 23351-1 with ventilation operating, evidenced by a report from a named laboratory. Say assembled, say ventilation operating, and say per model. Without those three, a panel figure satisfies the clause and the room does not.

Internal acoustic: reverberation time under 0.4 seconds, which is what stops a small enclosure sounding boxy on a video call. Almost no specification includes it and almost every complaint traces back to it.

Dimensional: external footprint and height including any cooling unit, internal clear dimensions, and clear door opening width. State ceiling clearance separately.

Access: where an accessible unit is required, state level threshold with no upstand, clear opening width, and clear internal floor for turning. Do not rely on the word accessible on its own.

Services: supply from a standard socket, no fixed electrical connection, no fixing to the structure, and confirmation that the unit is freestanding and demountable.

Environmental: low-emission certification such as GREENGUARD Gold, and recyclability at end of life.

Where a pod sits in your programme

It is furniture, not construction. It arrives flat, it is assembled by two people in a morning, it plugs into a standard socket, and it is not fixed to the building. That means no landlord consent, no partition approval, no reinstatement obligation at lease end, and no trades on the floor.

The practical consequence for programme is that it does not need to be in the construction sequence at all. It can land after handover, which is often the difference between a space being usable on day one and waiting on a fit-out.

Lead time is around four weeks from a confirmed configuration, plus shipping and installation, with the window confirmed in writing for the delivery address. Plan access early: lift dimensions, door widths and floor loading are the three things that delay pods, not the pods themselves.

The documents, on request

Acoustic test reports per model, dimensioned drawings, the GREENGUARD Gold certificate, electrical certification for your market, and the warranty terms. No form-filling and no commitment. Tell us the models you are specifying and we will send the set.

If you need a format we have not listed, ask. We would rather produce it than have the specification written around a supplier who could.

Every model, priced

Published, so a costed proposal does not need a phone call first. Furniture and installation are separate lines.

Prices are for the pod in the configuration you choose. Finishes, furniture and compatible extras are listed separately as you build. Delivery, destination costs and any applicable tax are confirmed on your written quotation, so the total you approve is the total you pay.

Work out what your project actually costs

Choose the model and the quantity and you will have a real number in a few seconds. No enquiry, no email address, no waiting for someone to come back to you. Every figure below is the same one you will see in the configurator.

What is included as standard

Every FocusPod arrives with laminated glass front and rear, layered acoustic insulation, adjustable ventilation, dimmable LED lighting with adjustable colour temperature, power and an occupancy light. Speech level reduction is laboratory tested at greater than 29 dB under ISO 23351-1, the international standard written specifically for pods. Every pod is covered by our five-year structural and electrical warranty.

There is no separate charge for the black or white exterior or for the standard interior palette. Other exterior colours use the displayed upgrade price, and a custom interior colour is priced per pod. All of it is listed separately as you build, so nothing arrives as a surprise on the quotation.

See it properly before you decide

Take a look inside. The film below walks through the Solo, the most compact model in the range, and the 3D configurator lets you turn any model around, change the finishes and try the furniture layouts. If you would rather be walked through it, we will do a live video walkthrough of the pod you are considering and answer questions as we go.

The FocusPod Solo, in detail: furniture layouts, exterior and interior finishes, lighting, ventilation, power and the magnetic soft-close door.

Common questions

Do you provide drawings and test reports?

Yes, on request and without a form. Acoustic reports per model, dimensioned drawings, GREENGUARD Gold, electrical certification for the market and warranty terms.

Does a pod need building approval?

It is freestanding furniture, plugged into a standard socket and not fixed to the structure, so it does not trigger the approvals a partition does. Confirm sprinkler and detection coverage with your fire engineer, as you would for any enclosure.

Can we specify a custom finish?

Yes. Exterior and interior finishes, printed glass, furniture layout and accessories are all configurable. Ask about anything beyond the standard options before the specification is issued.

How long does delivery take?

Made to the configuration you approve. Around four weeks from a confirmed order, plus shipping and installation, with the window confirmed in writing for your address.

Does it need electrical work?

No. Standard socket, no fixed connection, no fixing to the building.

Are the front and rear both glass?

Yes. Every FocusPod has glass at both the front and rear. Standard glass is clear. Optional PDLC privacy glass can be selected for the front only or for both the front and rear.

Can I move the pod once it is installed?

Yes. Every FocusPod has built-in wheels and adjustable levelling feet. Raise the feet to move the pod on its wheels, then lower and adjust them to level the pod in its new position.

Tell us about the space

Send the dimensions, the use and the number of people, and we will come back with a configuration, a price and whatever documentation you need.
